It’s been a while since our last post. Things have been very busy with the family and with our clients. The weather was so gorgeous yesterday and it actually felt like spring, other than the fact that all the leaves are already gone. It was the perfect day to drive up north to the Barrie area to visit some great vendors there. Usually Barrie is a stop for us to stretch our legs and grab a coffee when we go up north to Wasaga or Blue Mountain, but there’s so much more here. And this was my first opportunity to enjoy the town a little bit more. My first stop was Jennifer Klementti’s studio located at downtown Barrie. I absolutely fell in love with her studio as soon as I walked in. It’s cozy and chic with a nice view of Lake Simcoe from her window. We met each other at the Wedding Co Spring Show and her booth was right beside ours. Jennifer is a very genuine person and also a talented photographer. Fast forward 6 months, my clients now are booking her for their wedding next year and we even each got a souvenir from Jenn for our visit. I picked a Fine Art Print of a vintage toy – A Little Lamb from “The Guys” collection.
“The Guys” collection is a collection of fun, colourful & original prints made especially for kids. I’m going to frame this Little Lamb and put it in Jillian’s room.
After our meeting, I headed further north to Hillsdale to meet with Elizabeth Johnston from Event Decorator. She’s one of the Canadian event designers I admire the most and her work has been published in many magazines: Grace Ormonde, Wedluxe, Elegant Weddings, you name it. Not only that she’s super-uber talented, she is also very willing to help planners in the same industry. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me and letting me pick your brain!
I hope next time I’ve got more time to stay and visit more “friendors” in the area!
xo,
Carmen
